CoorItalia, Inc, has become a Full Member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
The Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a 501 c3 non-profit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for our nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings.
CoorItalia, Inc, has begun the NFRC certification of its Steel and Bronze thermally broken windows and doors.
The NFRC (National Fenestration Rating Council) is a non-profit organization based in Maryland, that administers the only uniform, independent rating and labeling system for the energy performance of windows, doors, skylights, and attachment products. NFRC Certification is a standard against which fenestration products can be compared in terms of energy efficiency.
The NFRC list is sorely lacking when it comes to steel and bronze framed windows and doors. Historically this is because of the poor performance of metal, but CoorItalia is bringing to the US market a line of windows and doors made with Galvanised Steel, Stainless Steel, Cor-Ten Steel and Bronze insulated by a very high efficiency thermal break between the indoors and outdoors. Using a extruded spacer in fibreglass reinforced polyamide fixed with high-density rigid polyurethane the windows and doors will aim for both high efficiency (both thermal and acoustic) but also for the undoubted aesthetics of steel and bronze windows and doors.
