CoorItalia, Inc, has become a Full Member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
The Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a 501 c3 non-profit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for our nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings.
With a community comprising 78 local affiliates, nearly 16,000 member companies and organizations, and more than 170,000 LEED Professional Credential holders, USGBC is the driving force of an industry that is projected to contribute $554 billion to the U.S. gross domestic product from 2009-2013. USGBC leads an unlikely diverse constituency of builders and environmentalists, corporations and nonprofit organizations, elected officials and concerned citizens, and teachers and students.
The mission for the USGBC is to transform the way buildings and communities are designed, built and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life.
"CoorItalia's philosophy and product lines are in symbiosis with the USGBC's goals - many of our products are reclaimed, in particular our terracotta roof tiles and terracotta flooring and ceiling tiles," said Alessio De Francesca, CEO of CoorItalia. "We work extensively with vendors to give new life to reclaimed material."
"LEED Certification, which is a USGBC creation, is becoming a new Building Standard" added Managing Director Alex Norton. "We know that many of our products qualify for LEED points, be it from their recycled nature, to their high thermal efficiency in the case of thermally broken steel and bronze windows and doors, or FSC sourcing of our wood windows and doors"
