Hermosa Beach terracotta louver system
For this modern take on a beach house in southern California’s iconic Hermosa Beach, Cooritalia partnered with the design and build teams to both supply and install a custom rainscreen over areas of the façade. The rainscreen system is comprised of natural terracotta extruded into hollow tubes or ‘baguettes’ that are attached to the building with a mechanical fastening system. Alternating the depths of the baguettes and eliminating every other one over windows creates a stunning rhythm on the building’s surface which also provides both solar shading and privacy for the interiors. Our baguettes are available in a range of colors and profiles that can be installed horizontally or vertically in lengths customized to the design and location on the building.
