eLLIPTICAL STAIRCASE - Moca Cream

This highly complex project was designed by BAR Architectural firm and built by Ryan Associates.

The project includes an elliptical cantilevered wired staircase, made of brushed Portuguese limestone.

CoorItalia initially worked with architects and General Contractor in the USA, in order to finalize the templates. Later, the collaboration with Italy’s laboratory allowed to produce the Shop Drawings. They were eventually manufactured, assembled in mockups, disassembled and shipped to the job site for final installation.

The end result was spectacular – a true example of how the staircase can be the focal point in a home. The challenge was  producing the design, verifying the construction requirements and making everything fit perfectly into place. The hardest issue was with the tolerances for the treads to fit over the cantilevered rods because they were extremely tight.

A challenging project that turned into a real triumph!
